Rights of fathers are not just about money.

When I was growing up, I remember seeing my dad only during the weekends. On weekdays, he was always working, waking up and leaving for work before we woke up, and returning home when we were already asleep. This made me believe that it was a fathers sole responsibility to provide financially to his family, and that fathers did not have any other right or responsibility. This is what many of us believed until the law on parental rights was introduced. That is why we have so many cases of fathers seeking their rights in our courts today. Fathers too have a right to be with the children even though they have to provide for them. Who said mothers cannot provide financially? If parental rights are equal according to the law, I also think that parental responsibilities should be made equal as well. Fathers should help care for the children so that mothers too can get a chance to provide financially. These days, fathers access rights easily because they have the law to back them up. They do not need to work for longer hours in order to fulfill their rights because they are also needed in the lives of their children for the better growth and development of these children.
