The importance to have secret your usernames and passwords

I never save my assignments in my flash disk because I end up losing them and doing double work all over again. Other students especially classmates also steal other students&rsquo flash disks so that they can have access to other peoples work and pass them as their own and I do not want to be a victim. So I always send my work to my hotmail account because I am the only one who has my hotmail login details, that is my user name and password so it will be very hard for anyone to have access to my hotmail account not unless I give them to someone. My roommate asked to use my laptop after I finished my assignment because her laptop was giving her problems. What is did not know is that she wanted to copy one of my papers without my knowledge. She is my roommate, she knew how I saved my work and she was going to use that information to mess with me. So she went to my hotmail account and she did not have to login because my computer remembered my hotmail login details, both username and password. She tried to open my attached documents but she could not access them because I saved them as read only and also because I always encrypted my final drafts in order to avoid people from stealing my work and passing them as their own. She got really frustrated and she refused to close my hotmail login page when she stopped using my laptop and I found what she was trying to do. Its not that I trusted her anyway but by what she had tried to do, there was no way I was going to trust her even if I had a gun to my head.
